teufelhunde.ret Posted May 2, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 2, 2007 A new cap emblem showed up on epay this morning. Not rare, nonetheless seldom seen at auction. Its shows a good deal of wear and stablizer pin is broke. Quite likely from a truck of a career Marine. Given its worn condition, no hallmarks, it may not reach the price typical of emblems of this period. But, still a good filler or for period uniform display. A fine example of a pre war EGA.I believe the seller is dead on in his dating of the emblem. Gemsco like character of molded continents. With JR Gaunt features in eagle, rope, flukes, stock, etc of known Gaunt hallmarked pieces of the period. As noted in Orgel's reference, page 8, figure 32. Will be interesting to see what it goes for.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...p;rd=1&rd=
