Cobrahistorian Posted July 13, 2009 Share #3 Posted July 13, 2009 That's an MH-60S Knighthawk, the newest version of the Navy's Seahawk family. They're multimission helicopters.

Cobrahistorian Posted July 15, 2009 Share #6 Posted July 15, 2009 Guess that short wheelbase wasn't working out.... Var, They do a lot of SOF support, and well, could you see that short wheelbase doing a high speed approach to a confined LZ? Prannnnnnnng! I've seen a couple Sierra models now. Pretty cool birds.... ...Of course, they're no Longbow Congrats on going from squares to the stripe, that's awesome!
Spathologist Posted July 15, 2009 Share #7 Posted July 15, 2009 Var, They do a lot of SOF support, and well, could you see that short wheelbase doing a high speed approach to a confined LZ? Prannnnnnnng! Yeah, my remark was an attempt at sarcasm. First time I saw a SH-60 I thought that wheelbase would be a liability anywhere but on a ship. Congrats on going from squares to the stripe, that's awesome! Thanks! But the word is that we're going to be using a silver "Rising Eagle" as insignia for CW5 in the near future. It's supposedly been hacked off all the way up the chain and is sitting on the COSA's desk for final approval. Get those Army CW5 "coin slots" while they're hot, folks! Might not be around much longer!
