hawkdriver Posted July 9, 2009 Share #5 Posted July 9, 2009 In both pictures, we skip directly from Vietnam to Desert Storm. No old "We do more before 9 AM than most people do all day" Soldiers, or Cold War woodland camo guys?

However, I don't see the Korean War in the first post. It looks like it jumps from WWII to Vietnam. Nice post though. Looks good....Kat

bluemesa159 Posted July 9, 2009 Share #10 Posted July 9, 2009 I thought each generation was getting taller than the previous one, not the reverse! Nice photo though! I noticed that too... I figured it was the addditional body armor, etc. that was weighing them down.
BEAST Posted July 9, 2009 Share #11 Posted July 9, 2009 No War of 1812 or Mexican War? But before we get too nit-picky, great effort to both OD MAN and Mark! I was part of a group that did a history of the soldier for the local Veteran's Day parades and some living history event. It is not easy getting enough people to do all of the eras. And when you even have enough bodies, matching those bodies to uniforms that fit was a whole 'nother challenge.

mark headlee Posted July 9, 2009 Share #13 Posted July 9, 2009 Howdy, We usually have someone doing War of 1812, Mexican War, and Panama, but they could not attend for the parade this picture was taken. I am amazed how many people know what impressions we do (though some are clueless). During this parade I had an elderly lady tell her graddaughter "thats what my daddy looked like in 1918" as she was pointing at me (I'm the AEF impression). It was touching to say the least! OD MAN Posted July 9, 2009 Author Share #15 Posted July 9, 2009 Bonjour,You're 200% right Kat, the Korea war is really the forgotten war :crying: Cheers Valery I did not forget the Korean war (I collect a lot of stuff from that period also), I just thought that pretty much the same gear was used in WWII and Korea, so it wouldnt make sense to ad that, but later today I will ad every single war I can think of.... kphfun Posted July 13, 2009 Share #20 Posted July 13, 2009 OD MAN, that is a really cool picture. They guy wearing the Spanish American war outfit is huge, he's got to be 6' 3" (Unless everyone else is really small.) . I don't think that would be an asset charging up a grassy hill but it sure would be if he made it . Very cool list that Beast kicked but I would have to toss the Bay of Pigs out as there was no U.S. troop involvement in it, but still very cool Beast  .
