cco23i Posted June 30, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 30, 2009 Greetings all, Just a quick note to get out that we have formed a unit that is very obscure and never really discussed in the history books. We have formed a ground crew living history unit where we portray the common ground crew of the Army Air forces of WW2. so far we have had 2 bombing runs where we loaded 200 pound concrete bombs and then portrayed instructors at the Collings foundation "bomber fantasy camp". And of course numerous displays here in Arizona and one in Terra Haute Indiana last year. I was thinking after being a crew chief in the Air Force for over 26 years I should portray one for airshows, as all you seem to see at airshows are pilots and aircrews. So far we have been very well recieved by the public but always seem to have problems with airborne types and some SS units. Thanks for looking all and take care! cco23i Posted July 4, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted July 4, 2009 FINALLY!!!!!! Some guys that do something other than the Airborne! Glad to see it, keep up the good work! Yup, I got tired of 5 million airborne types and 5 million SS types and thought, heck I have been a crew chief for over 26 years I'd do ground crew living history! Here are some recent shots. sgtbrown Posted July 5, 2009 Share #5 Posted July 5, 2009 Scott is too modest to mention it but he is the founder of a Yahoo discussion group on ground crews. Been going strong for a few years now. Check it out. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/groundcrews/ Tom
