I have Daltons decorations, DSM and Silver Star as well as his remaining campaign medals to include Spanish, Cuban Occ., Cuban Pac., Mexican Service and WWI Vic. I also need his Phil. Hello,

I´ve got a question for you about one medal:

I´m searching for Purple Heart of:

2/Lt. U.S.A.A.F. William L. Kiggins -- ASN. O-1692808. (31. FG / 308 FS) KIA 11.10 1944 - Czechoslovakia

He was the only one American soldier who died in Czechoslovakia in my hometown during WWII and I have also some books with his story. He was shot down during attack at train near to spot where I live.

It would be a great honor to have his Purple Heart and I´m willing to pay "ANY" reasonable price for this medal. Or I could trade it for KIA - 517PIR Purple heart etc.

I´d like to ask you if you know anybody who could have this medal. If it is not still in Kiggins family

I know that it is a really foolish to hope that somewhere here on forum somebody would have this PH but could you give me recommendation who collects USAAF Purple Heart here?

Who could help me to find it?

Thank you very much for your replies.

Yours sincerely Lubos

Sean,

Are you sure it was Philippine Liberation? (1945) They are not numbered.

I think you mean Philippine Congressional Campaign Medal (Issued in 1908 +)

I am looking for a Purple Heart named to Augustus L. Arndt USMC. He was KIA/MIA at Okinawa. It could possibly be in the West Virginia or Pennsylvania areas. That is just a guess since it could be anywhere.....his wife was from West Virginia and from my research it appears she moved to Coopersburg, Pa. where she passed away in the '90s.

Any success stories?

Yes. a forum member contacted me about a LOM that he had that come from a veteran whose name I had posted in this thread. We were able to reunite that group.

Looking for the named Air Medal to Colonel Philip Cole, AAF WWII. I have some pics of him, documents, and his named LOM medal. I have seen pics of the Air Medal, but was outbid at the last second on ebay. I also have heard that many of his uniforms and other medals were sold at auction a few years ago. Any information on the whereabouts of Col. Cole's items would be greatly appreciated. I will pay good prices for any of these items, especially the Air Medal.
