vivera1288 Posted June 21, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 21, 2009 A friend of mine from work gave me an M1 Garand Bayonet today dated 1943 everything would seem good on it except one thing about it that stands out to me. The scabbard the metal part has what remains of the od green paint with a crown FRF stamping on it, the wooden part appears to have never been painted at all and is a polished dark brown wood. I've only seen them having been painted. Any ideas why this ones wooden sheath was left unpainted.
doyler Posted June 21, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 21, 2009 Sounds like a Danish version of the scabbard RD

BOLO Posted June 21, 2009 Share #4 Posted June 21, 2009 US bayonets never have royal crown markings yes, it must be a foreign scabbard
