Tonomachi Posted June 14, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 14, 2009 When I started collecting WW2 era paratrooper wings some 25 years ago you would come across a British made piece every now and then. Now you see a lot of them for sale especially out of the UK. For this reason I am really reluctant to buy them anymore. I'm not saying that this is a reproduction but if it is an original piece I would like to see 60 plus years of wear and this piece is a little too I guess the word is shiny for me. My opinion only as I could be wrong.
Gary Cain Posted June 14, 2009 Share #3 Posted June 14, 2009 At first blush no these are not good. The back looks almost exactly the same as the J.R. Gaunt wings out there. Also the back is a little soft on the detail, plus the pin is not the correct shape for a Firmin.

I hope it is good as it went for 400 dollars.......Glad I lost now.
