Owen,

Here is my CIDG barefoot, I will try to put the boots on him this week end :D . Of course these footgears are vintage

Shame all those rare and fantastic Tigers reduced to peasent level.

Go to the fridge and get a beer , open beer and take drink

Go to war room .

Drink more beer .

Break Maniquinne in half .

Put legs upside down on chair .

More beer .

Pull on trousers

Put on left boot ,but some people like to put on the right boot first

Good, both boots are on ?

Turn over to right side up

Take last drink of beer

Tighten laces

Blouse trousers add torso

Bob is your uncle.

Go to fridge again

Repeat process untill dignity has been restored in war room .

post pix of war room showing clearly that you can tye boot laces .

Maybee that is the root of the problem .

They have help groups for that you know

I hope this helps

owen

ps this is for cop

Hi all,

My newly set mannekin (still barefoot even I drank a lot of beers this weekend :) ) , my 1st pattern boots are a little to small to be fit on the mannekins (I think I must have a pair of boots of size 10 instead of 8 in order to fit it). It s a 1st pattern of Tiger used by the Vietnamese Marines, dated back to 62.

Cheers

Wow! thats a great tiger set with a nice dark colour thumbsup.gif

I wish I had one of these 1st model in my collection its very hart to get this pattern even more in this good condition!

Is the QM Stamp from shirt and pants still visible ?

Nice early tiger uniform !!!

Hello,

the QM stamps are all faded, nothing left, I have another shirt, I think stamps on poplin material fades faster than on cotton material. I will try to make pictures with these faded stamps

Hi all

Wow , those photos are great !!!

The gold shot ???

Yes sir !!

I love the mismatched and washed out picture .

It goes to show that not all sets were worn exact , that is a thing that collectors forget .

The man in the field didnt give a dam if it matched it was all just camo to him.

I love the hand tinted MF picture .

I also like the cops girlfriends shoes they are cute .

I was at Bobs show this weekend and seen one if not the best set of tigers I have ever seen in my life ,A named USMC advisor custom fully badged up set .

I will leave it to Vintage productions to show it if he wants to ,but a killer set .

For all of you who want to come to a great show you should consider Bobs show , it was full of tigerstripe and tons of other great Vietnam collectables .

I also handled Jasons 1st model tiger set and I was blown away simply stunning .

Sweet

Ps

My camera died on the first day so no pix from me ,Boo !!!

But I did see somebody who will remain nameless taking shots .

I took 4 shots all weekend ,

Has Jason lowered his price for his 1st pattern set ? What a pity your camera was broken, I wish you show me the USMC badged set from Bob.

I bought recently a Tiger late war jacket, but obiviously, there was no tan-brown color on it, only black and green, the interesting thing is there is a pocket on the left sleeves like other US cut tiger with probably 2 buttons. I don't if it s a Tailor modification or original cut.

The pics is not good, but I hope you can all see what I mean.

Owen,

Jason wll never sell his set for such amount of of money except if he meets a crazy japanese guy.

For the shirt above, I can not totally agree with you, the version you mention, if I think right, always has black buttons and the materail is heavyweight made with very black stripes. This one looks medium weight and green olive buttons. If we look closer to the pockets, they are smaller in this version (same size as other late war light weight shirt) while the version with black buttons has bigger pockets.

I haven't decided if I am going to post my advisors set yet. I have worked for ten years to buy it from the vet himself that it belonged to. I will ask him first if he minds. I know the set is now mine, but I still respect my friend a lot and will only show it if he says its okay. It also has his beret, that most of the "experts" will say is not right, but my friend is the one who issued all the uniforms and berets to all the advisors.

On another note about Jason's set. I do not understand what the motives are here to keep putting it down Is it because of the price? Is it because some don't have the money to afford it? I have liked it since the day Jason sent me photo's of it. Like Owen, this weekend was the first time I got to see it in person. I must be one of the "crazy" ones, as if I had the spare money, I would buy it in a second. I have handled 1000's of pieces of tiger stripe, and have been buying tiger stripe since the late 70's. I have never had a chance at one of these sets.

Bob,

What s wrong with beret ? does it wear on the left side like US made beret ? (we have picstures in this topic showing vietnamese wearing it on both sides).

I do not mean to put down the Jason set, I really love it but I just said that it will be difficult to sell with this price in this moment when everything goes wrong with the economy.

Cop

Post good pix of the shirt then !!!!

The pix I can see look like they were taken on a mobile phone and also taken by a drug addict .

When collecting Tigerstripes sometimes it is important to step up to the plate and put your hand in ones pocket .

Jason priced the tiger set correct .

You may troll through ebay and get cheap tigerstripes all day long ,that is fine ,but you fail to see that for tigerstripe collectors who have been doing this for over 20 years this set is a once in a lifetime set that comes up only rarely .

I like BOB would love to own this set , The price is no problem to me just how do you sneak a set like this past your girlfriend who also knows tigers as well as me because she also collects them .Oh yes she is also crazy enough to know the rarest tiger set ever , and would ask me how much .!!

Hi Guys!,

I wish I could visit the show too!, but my butget ditnd't allow a flight to the States now, I cen get for the same price two good tiger sets on ebay or somewhere, so I guess prefer this option for now first!, just for now!!!!!

Nice late war shirt Cop !, you get it for a good price as well , this kind of pattern comes always in a good big size !

I have the same one except with the sleeve pocket! , I never saw this configuration on a light weight shirt before, bud it sould be stamped direct in the collar on the camo print.

Hey Owen!, I lookig forward to see you pics!, when I got my new gold set in my hands I will post some pictures as well

I wisch you all the best my friends

You will have a great day when you get the gold , all gold shirts and trousers are fantastic,

from mint to well used they hold a special charm .

Cop

If your small boots dont fit simply cut a little piecs of the toes of your dude .

This means you can buy small boots with a rare cut and they will fit every time.

Also that tadpole custom set is unique , I especially like the leg pockets

Don't worry Andrei, Spike had to have his glasses on...

While going through my racks today, I found this odd silver tiger stripe shirt. It is a basic Asian cut but the cuffs are doubled. I think we should now classify these as the "ELVIS PRESLEY VEGAS YEARS SPARSE " pattern.
