kammo-man Posted April 24, 2009 Share #1528 Posted April 24, 2009 Helmet Guy . Your flightsuit is considered a CIA contract piece . These were made for Air Amercia employees in Japan during the opening phase of the war . It is a top shelf Tiger piece . Many collectors do not even have one . They are rare and only show up maybee 1 or 2 a year . You have a very special Tiger suit and should be Very happy . It has a fantastic pattern !!!! owen

Copran Posted April 24, 2009 Share #1530 Posted April 24, 2009 Thanks for the replies.Owen, I believe he served during that time and into the very early 70's. Here are some more pictures: hi, I had a pair of these pants I bought from John O Connor, made in very soft material with vivid color. Size was incredible huge, likely W38xL30. I think they were not widely used in vietnam since I didn't see many pics of soldier wearing them
kammo-man Posted April 24, 2009 Share #1531 Posted April 24, 2009 I have a pair in Viet Matine 2nd pattern that would blow you away . I will find and post them . They are mint and also large . These were clearly hunting and not military issue ,maybee made from Japanese left over stock sometime after 1966 when the uniform changed . owen

vintageproductions Posted April 29, 2009 Share #1533 Posted April 29, 2009 Okay the tiger stripe thread has been a bit slow lately, we must all be busy. Here's a couple new to add. This blazer was made in Tokyo, in the Ginza ditrict. All the pilot's in the VMF-323 Death Rattlers, had these jackets made at this store.
vintageproductions Posted April 29, 2009 Share #1534 Posted April 29, 2009 This one is a cool tailored shirt I bought off of Ebay probably five years ago. It is a standard two pocket style that has had two lower pockets added, with double exposed buttons on the flaps.
vintageproductions Posted April 29, 2009 Share #1535 Posted April 29, 2009 This is one that has always thrown me. Very basic Viet style body but those wierd tiny plastic buttons. The fade to this one is awesome.

butcher Posted May 8, 2009 Share #1545 Posted May 8, 2009 I just ordered one uniform set with a matching boonie & beret , will be able to say more when i get it and compare it to the Mash copies but judging from these pics and knowing the high quality of Treys work and Owens knowledge in tigertsripes , these must be awesome , wouldn't dare say better but most likely equal with Mash copies !!!
