usryan Posted June 5, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 5, 2009 Hi everybody, I have found recently an ID bracelet named to Irvwin E Sargent and a serial number "8540470". The seller say to me that this soldier was on the 1st Eng.C.Bn during ww2. Can you say me more about this unit and about this man ? Can you say me to why the army number begin with a "8" ? Army, navy, usmc or officer ??? Thank you very much for your answer ! Tim
Custermen Posted June 5, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 5, 2009 Here is a good link about US Dogtags. http://home.att.net/%7Esteinert/us_army_ww2_dog_tags.htm I don't see the "8" mentioned in this link, so this must not be Army. Steve
