hawkdriver Posted May 31, 2009 Share #1 Posted May 31, 2009 I have a old veteran from the 89th Division that went ashore during the war. As I talk to him, he has said on several occasions that he was issued a "lightweight" sleeping bag that they usually kept in the duffle bag. I've tried asking what he is talking about, but his memory is fading and he gets frustrated trying to remember, so I don't want to push him any further. I can't find any reference to a "lightweight" sleeping bag and the only thing I can think of is that he is talking about a wool bag with a liner inside a water repellent shell. Anyone know what he is referencing?
doyler Posted May 31, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 31, 2009 Steve, I am thinking its the wool bag that was used as a liner or by itself as a "lightweight" sleeping bag.I often see them with the canvas sleepeing bag cover and would thing this is what was used in moderate tempatures.
