Captainofthe7th Posted May 23, 2009 Share #1 Posted May 23, 2009 My grandfather's CIB is still is fairly solid shape, but the tip of the rifle is no longer attached to the backing. It is not obvious, but there is a thin area about .5in long where it became un-soldered. The back half and butt of the rifle is still attached firmly to the backing. Are there any ways I can prevent further breakage and/or fix what has already happened? Rob
Jim Baker Posted May 23, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 23, 2009 Rob, I would say, get it under glass and leave it alone. However, if it's really bothering you, and since it's a family heirloom, take it to a professional jeweler. They can get it right without damaging the enamel surface.
