gingerbread Posted May 23, 2009 Share #1 Posted May 23, 2009 I just find in a farm, in the area of St Marie du Mont, the following musette bag with the following name and serial number: McMichael 35604897. I succeed to find that he was a E Co 501st PIR member on the 501st roll of honor ( http://www.ww2-airborne.us/units/501/501.html ): KIA in Holland 09/18/1944 The National ww2 memorial site confirms the serial number: PFC L. M. McMichael ID: 35604897 Branch of Service: U.S. Army Hometown: Columbiana County, OH Status: KIA It would be marvellous if someone would be able to find a pic from him. Mr-X Posted May 23, 2009 Share #5 Posted May 23, 2009 Very nice. Thanks for sharing. It's interesting to see that he took the piling swivel from his rifle and kept it in his pack. I guess he didn't want it to rattle.
