Fly USMC Posted May 22, 2009 Share #1 Posted May 22, 2009 Went TAD to Yuma for a conference this week. Stopped by some of the AV-8B Harrier Squadrons (VMA 513 and VMA-311) and picked up some patches, also went to a few Antique / junk stores. Here are the patches I found. VMA-311 wears a "Friday" patch, which is just like the patch that the Squadron wore in Korea (VMF-311). I also got two of the 04-05 OIF deployment patches. Some of the unique patches that I got from VMA-513 are the ones that are worn by Mechs with special Qualifications CDI (Collateral Duty Inspector), QAR (Quality Assurance Rep), CDIQAR (Collateral Duty Inspector / Quality Assurance Rep), and Plane Captain. Teamski Posted May 22, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 22, 2009 Nice haul!! I got a couple from there back in 1992, when I went with a C-5 to drop off a pair of Harriers. I got a VMA-513 patch off of a pilot and visited the VMFAT-401 aggressors. I got surrounded by a bunch of pilots in the snack bar and had to fork over $5 for the patch.....Nice guys, hehehe..... -Ski
