Navy corpsman red cross identifications

Not sure if this is the right subforum, but from what I have read, Navy Corpsman attached to the Marines stopped wearing red cross brassards and helmets for the Tarawa invasion, going to the white dot identifiers, after being singled out by Japanese snipers. So that would indicate that they wore the red crosses at Guadacanal, which was the first meeting of US and Japanese ground troops except for Wake Island, correct? Does anyone have any photos of corpsman at the 'Canal wearing any red crosses? I saw film footage of an Army medic, coming down a net with red cross armband and helmet for some Pacific operation (though it could have been misplaced footage of an European event) but nothing about corpman other than the white dot or nothing at all.
