TALLYHO Posted May 17, 2009 Share #1 Posted May 17, 2009 I was given these skis after friends of the family grandfather passed away. They were up in the rafters of the garage. He was in the 10Th Mountain Division as the story goes. The skis are 83" in length. The bindings are marked DOVRE (not seen in photo) and 1943 over US. One pole is missing a basket. Can anyone shed some light on these based on the markings? Thank you!
DMD Posted May 17, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 17, 2009 Those are some long skis! Modern skis are generally a little less than your height. Check this thread: http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/ind...031&hl=skis
