WWII USMC ID Bracelet

Recommended Posts

Got this a couple weeks ago, a men's stretch/hinged bracelet with the initials 'HMS' engraved next to a droop wing EGA. No catches, or latches, just the stretch band. My guess is WWII era, though initials really don't help with IDs...any other input?

Brig, a neat find! I recall these metal stretch bands... they would remove every bit of hair on you wrist! crybaby.gif ....were they painful!

That wrist band looks a lot like the Twist O Flex bands made by Speidel at least as early as the mid 1950's. They were widely advertised on TV and in the print media. As I remember, they had a hinged cover this gave the wearer a compartment for a photo.
