Salvage Sailor Posted May 5, 2009 Share #1 Posted May 5, 2009 Last year, I hiked up to Makapu'u lighthouse, mostly to climb around on the bunkers and coastal fortifications. The lighthouse at the point is in great shape with the ever spectacular views, but the lighthousekeepers' quarters & coast guard station is long gone. The only real traces are foundations and some markings in the concrete, plus the overgrown landing pad. While taking photos of the markings, I also came across this new plaque which was not out there the last time I hiked the trail. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
