HistUS8106 Posted July 8 #1 Posted July 8 These are different hat badges. Are they USN hat badges from WWII? What is the difference between these two hat badges?
manayunkman Posted July 8 #3 Posted July 8 If you could show the whole picture it might be easier to put a date on them. The insignias are so small on my screen that when I blow them up they blur too much to discern any detail.
HistUS8106 Posted July 8 Author #4 Posted July 8 Is the second photo AI or something? The first one is definitely Bob Feller in 1945 The second is supposed to Bob Feller in 1945
KurtA Posted July 8 #8 Posted July 8 AI was used to colorize the photo and it messed up the insignia. AI does not do well with insignia. It’s the easiest way to id an AI created/enhanced photo.

I didn't know the AI color programs also did "corrections" like this.
