kyhistorian01 Posted May 26 #1 Posted May 26 Inspired by AZnation's post I thought I would share a large portion of my Sweetheart collection that is photographed. I love Sweetheart items and pic them up when I can
aznation Posted May 27 #2 Posted May 27 Man, you have quite the collection of these sweetheart pillow covers. I love all the colors and names of places that have since disappeared after the war. It's astonishes me how vibrant the colors are after all these years, other than the fact I think most never had a pillow in them and were folded up and put away in someones dresser over the years, thus protecting them from the suns effects. Thank you for showing all of your covers. I know I enjoyed looking at all of them. -- Matt
dmar836 Posted May 29 #3 Posted May 29 Very nice collection. I often think of what these were and what they represented to an 18yr old - maybe away from home for the first time. You were emersed in training and free time was scarce and establishing friendships in your unit was important and rushed - competing with family comms. Like summer camp as a child, there is little time to write to family or girlfriend and these items really helped. There is a lot behind them, really. Dave
