manayunkman Posted Wednesday at 11:20 PM #1 Posted Wednesday at 11:20 PM I was very pleased to find this group to a member of the 533rd engineers. The family had no idea where it came from. I found 2 names in the group. The unit emblem is by Disney, its hand painted and was cut out of a larger painted sign.
manayunkman Posted Wednesday at 11:24 PM Author #2 Posted Wednesday at 11:24 PM Found this the same day
manayunkman Posted Wednesday at 11:26 PM Author #3 Posted Wednesday at 11:26 PM And found these as well. Tomorrow is another day, my hopes are high.

otter42 Posted Thursday at 12:17 AM #6 Posted Thursday at 12:17 AM Nice stuff. Definitely like that hand painted sign. And some nice patches instead of the run of the mill ones we find! Good job
Manky bandage Posted Thursday at 12:27 AM #8 Posted Thursday at 12:27 AM Another similar sign behind the flag being held up.

kfields Posted Thursday at 01:30 AM #15 Posted Thursday at 01:30 AM Great finds!!! Here's a previous thread about the unit: https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/8132-533rd-engineer-boat-shore-regiment/

It's a bummer that this pdf is missing Parts II, III and IV.
Manky bandage Posted Thursday at 03:00 AM #18 Posted Thursday at 03:00 AM I did a bit of poking, and got part II, III and IV working. Here you go, parts IV list HQ and company members too. Part II Surf and Sand The Saga of 533rd Engineer Boat and Shore Regiment.pdf

Thrifter_01 Posted Thursday at 12:15 PM #22 Posted Thursday at 12:15 PM Incredible find! The last two letters might be HQ on that sign, so it may have hung on the command tent or just outside the base when it was still a full sign.
eaglerunner88 Posted Thursday at 02:51 PM #23 Posted Thursday at 02:51 PM That sign displays great and is still full of color after nearly 90 years! And that's the first time for me seeing a soldier's handbook specifically for engineers, cool stuff!
VickeyMouse Posted Thursday at 03:21 PM #24 Posted Thursday at 03:21 PM Great items! I collect Disney and that is a great find!
