RyanThePlaneGuy Posted April 9 #1 Posted April 9 So I recently got a PCU-15 including all rings and the fittings however, I have no idea how to assemble/put the fittings on the harness. Anyone that can help me?
RWW Posted April 9 #2 Posted April 9 Here is a Forum topic with a couple of pictures of the harness with the hardware attached.
72psb Posted April 9 #3 Posted April 9 I am having a hard time figuring out exactly what you are asking. Some pictures of what you have would surely help.
RWW Posted April 9 #5 Posted April 9 Do the pictures in the post that I sent you answer your question about where on the harness the hardware goes, or are you asking how to get the pins out of the hardware to put them on the harness?
RyanThePlaneGuy Posted April 9 Author #6 Posted April 9 Yeah my question is how to put the fittings on the harness, I know where they need to be
RWW Posted April 9 #7 Posted April 9 The canopy release fittings (Frost Fittings) have a small set screw on each side of the crossbar that you have to take out. Take them out and remove the crossbar. Put the fitting in place, slide the crossbar through the holes in the fitting and harness, then put the set screws back in. For the ejector snaps, unscrew the pin and remove it and the sleeve. Put the sleeve in place through the loop in the harness. Put the ejector snap in position with the release pull facing out. Put the pin through the hole in the fitting and sleeve and tighten the pin. For the V-Rings, thread the harness webbing through them.
RyanThePlaneGuy Posted April 9 Author #8 Posted April 9 Alr thx, and the bar/fitting goes through here right?
RyanThePlaneGuy Posted April 9 Author #10 Posted April 9 Any tips, been trying for ages to get the frost fitting bat trough the little loop also I guess you just have to push very hard bc the webbing just doesnt want to go through the V ring
RWW Posted April 10 #11 Posted April 10 You might try a tapered stick to force the loop open on one side. Once you get the crossbar started, you should be able to force it the rest of the way through. As for the V-rings, it is easier to get the webbing out of them than it is back in. The sole purpose of the wider webbing on the end of the strap is to keep the V-rings from coming off. Those are sewn on after the V-rings are put on the straps at the factory. You will just have to try and work one side through and pull. A pair of plyers helps so you can get a better grip. Then the same thing to get the webbing back through the other side.
