Help with a Western G46-8

Hello guys,

 

I was wondering what your opinions on this knife are?  Specifically on the finish of the blade?  I thought it looked good but I had a guy look at it recently and he thought there was a chance the blade has been refinished.  I wouldn't consider him an expert but I just wanted to get more opinions.

The original finish on the blade was a beautiful deep blue. (I call it a Colt blue).  This blade looks a bit splotchy, which would indicate that at the very least, it was "touched up" a bit with cold blue.  If it were untouched, and had been used as expected, you would see finish loss on the blade which would come from honest use.

In my humble opinion, it doesn't look suspicious. It looks like it's been used for a while, so the blue finish is a bit faded.

Beautiful knife!

Have one  with bluing wear towards tip. Took a quick shot of mine, sheath is just behind blade
