the Bucket Posted April 3 #1 Posted April 3 I am looking at a m1 carbine. It has a Rock-Ola dated barrel. The Serial number is 1696329. Is this a Rock-Ola reciever? If so any clue on date of manufacture?
blitz67 Posted April 4 #2 Posted April 4 It should say in the receiver if it’s rockola. Look behind the rear site
QED4 Posted April 4 #3 Posted April 4 The receiver should have the makers name stamped on the top back along with the serial number. If the original rear sight has been replaced with the second type, and most have, it will cover the marking. It is there you just have to look at an angle from the side, that is why they restamped the serial number in front of the rear sight.
blitz67 Posted April 5 #4 Posted April 5 Or its a civilian made carbine which is very possible, pictures would help
usmcdoc67 Posted April 12 #5 Posted April 12 If you are correct on the serial number, it is a RO. Would fall in the first block production 11/42-6/43. Would have ALL early type 1 parts.
