Allan H. Posted March 26 #3 Posted March 26 Marksman badges would be worn under the ribbons, so I don't think it is a marksman badge. As bright as it is, I would assume that it is probably a yellow ribbon like the American Defense or perhaps a China Service? Allan
unclegrumpy Posted March 26 #4 Posted March 26 American Defense?? Maybe with a star in the center??? Or maybe Allan's China Service???? Is hard to tell, but it also looks there is something between the ribbons...maybe another ribbon? Another thought, a guess, maybe the top ribbon is a Bronze Star or something else, and the ribbon is a plastic coated one that is reflecting the light. That said, if I add a small measure of wishful thinking and squint, I can almost see a Bronze Star ribbon
scottplen Posted March 26 Author #5 Posted March 26 Picture is dated 1943 . I was thinking silver star since it has side stripe and middle ? But ? Not sure he was a 1st division marine on Guadalcanal.
268th C.A. Posted March 26 #7 Posted March 26 Top ribbon is a PUC for sure, with two stars. I think your bottow far left is a Asiatic Pacific (center on my bar)

CinamonToastCrunch Posted March 26 #9 Posted March 26 Top ribbon looks like American Defense w/ A device. Middle left looks like a USN PUC and right bottom looks like an Air Medal.

Kurt Barickman Posted March 26 #11 Posted March 26 Based on its position and shiny reflection; my vote is for the USN/USMC PUC🤔🤷♂️ Kurt
268th C.A. Posted March 26 #12 Posted March 26 I also thought the bottom far right was a Victory WW2 as well but usually you dont see battle stars on these. But the regulations during the war were never inforced. I've seen crazy stuff on unitforms. out tof precidence, upside down etc.
scottplen Posted March 26 Author #13 Posted March 26 This picture is from 1943 so no victory medal yet . My guess is American defense , American Campaign and PTO with 3 stars .
