rathbonemuseum.com Posted March 18 #1 Posted March 18 A field worn MA-1 jacket issued to Brigadier General Douglas Kinnard May 20, 1969 at the start of his second tour in Vietnam. As outlined in his hand written note of provenance, he assumed command of the II Field Force Artillery, which "comprised of 15 battalions located in 60 fire bases from the Cambodian Border to the South China Sea." He went on to become the Chief of Staff of the II Field Force, the "largest combat command in the world." He goes on to say he wore this jacket daily during this tour. BGEN Kinnard was a 3 war US army veteran and was also an academic scholar, gaining a doctorate and tenure and writing a number of books about his upbringing and the Vietnam war.
