Maybe something in 361st Fighter Group as most insignia had lightning bolts?

Looks more air base unit/maintenance related to me. The octopus appears to be holding a couple tools (plus a bunch of unidentifiables). You see the octopus in some support insignia so they can demonstrate their diversity. Just an opinion. Past that, I never saw this one before Steve, sorry.

Randy, Not to be pedantic but I think that is just embroidery on wool and not a chenille patch.

I was gonna say something Navy.

Could very well be Navy, I didn't specify a branch as I just don't know. But this type of design lends itself to something support related to me regardless of branch.
