Some guy on ebay is selling these. I bought some and thought I'd drop some pics. They look green in his pics. Nice to at least have one manufacturer on the record for the sew throughs.

B. Blumenthal & Co., Inc., famous for "La Mode" and "Le Chic" buttons, established executive and sales offices at 1372 Broadway, New York, in 1939. They were a major manufacturer and distributor of buttons, even publishing DIY fashion manuals in the 1940s. The company was previously located at 1410 Broadway before moving to this Midtown location.

Neither size that was offered was the 7/8th inch button like you'd see on the M43 field jacket. Here's a pic of a 7/8th inch one in olive or brown.
