I'd like to know if anyone has more info on this canvas rifle carrying case.  Dimensions: 42 1/2" x 6 1/2"

It closely resembles a U.S. WWI M1903 Springfield & M1917 Enfield Rifle Canvas Carry Case, but with several modifications:
- Snap closure instead of a buckle, but that could have been added later
- The M1903 case strap attach points are near the top and bottom, while this case has both near the middle
- The M1903 case does not have a closed off leather tube sewn into the narrow point.  I can only find that feature on canvas cases for spare rifle barrels.

I did an ancestry database search for A. F. Crosman and only found one match for a person who acted as a "Principal" during the WWI draft registration when he would have been in his fifties. I'm assuming that means he acted as an adminsitrator then.  Also, this likely is "militaria" and was never issued by an armed service based on the lack of government stamps.

My initial impression is that your case looks like something made at a tent & awning shop, a sail maker or other entity that would have had the materials and equipment to make it back in the day.

I'm also guessing it was extended after initial manufacture and that the leather tip and the canvas it is attached to came later.

I could be completely off base, but it does not look like a "production" piece to me.

Looks commercial to me probably for a single barrel shot gun.
