Vendeen85 Posted March 2 #1 Posted March 2 Hello, As part of a project I’m doing on the wounded badges of several belligerents ww1/ww2, I am currently studying the Purple Hearts. I would like to know if anyone has a resource on the different types of engravings found on these decorations: government engravings, private engravings, etc. and especially examples of fake modern engravings, how to recognize them on older Purple Hearts, etc. Does anyone have a link for me or a reference to a publication? Thank you for your help! Best regards

I think it's Sacrifice Remembered: Posthumous Awards of the Purple Heart Medal in the Second World War by David A. Schwind. If nothing else, you can find the guy's website at https://www.warconvoys.com/sacrifice-remembered
