Hey all! I recently got this 1867 Spencer in trade. I’m not to familiar with these. I’ve just never seen one with a bayonet lug on the front. I know the Navy models had one, and I guess it’s possible when they built the 1867s they used old parts? It functions perfectly and is in amazing condition. Any info is appreciated!

Ben- Nice rifle, but the rear sight looks like a Springfield trapdoor sight.   SKIP

So that's why the m1867 was covered up! I wonder if someone attached one or modified the sights. Thanks for the info! Ben

That does not appear to be a trapdoor sight
