Good evening all,

Long time lurker, posting for the first time. I have been "jonesing" for a p42 Camo uniform for quite a while to add to my collection. I stumbled across this and was hoping to get a second opinion before considering purchasing.

On one hand, the age/wear and coloring looks very honest to me. I also like the HBT weave, and the snaps have a period look to them.

On the other, I don't like the stitching. Especially around the breast pocket, as well as the Scovill manufacturers stamp on the snap. I know WWII impressions uses Scovill snaps, but were they used on period Marine Uniforms? Some aspects of the pattern are a little different than other original examples I have seen, but I am not familiar enough with what variations exist to refute.

I would greatly appreciate anyone who knows frog skin to give their thoughts!

All the best,

James

It's from some film production. It has the perforations for squib bullet hits. Plus the size 46 in sharpie is another sign its film used. Looks to be made by wwii impressions. Not sure why no ega. Wwii impressions did make a batch of army camo uniforms for a bay of pigs production. It's not one of the SM wholesale made jackets from windtalkers, flags of our fathers, or the hbo Pacific series.

Also it reminds me of the wwii impressions camo uniforms used in we were soldiers for the french troops. I thought those were all army pattern but possibly some p42s were mixed in.

Great, thank you sprprops. It was one of those items which gave off red flags which I couldn't put to words.
