pwcosol Posted February 26 #1 Posted February 26 I noted some older posts by Mr. Bill Porter (but not branded "In Memorium "), so thought I would weigh in. Sadly, he passed about three years ago, leaving his wife and several children. Bill was primarily a collector of bayonets and was one of the most knowledgeable about the US MPBS M9. His expertise also extended to edged weapons produced by BUCK, Phrobis and Marto as well. When I first began to take a interest in the M9, he was always willing to share what he had learned. Bill could also be a tough negotiator, too! Upon his passing, most of his collection was sold off by a good friend and/or purchased in part by one or two others... with some items going to specific individuals. Bill had always planned to write the definitive book on the MPBS M9. He had a lot of factory information, documentation and even recorded interviews with inventor Micky Finn and others. Never found out where all his research data went. Can only hope it is in good hands and some day may result in the book Bill would like to have written for his fellow collectors.
Arisaka99 Posted March 3 #2 Posted March 3 RIP; hopefully his research is still kept somewhere. The void in open knowledge is huge!
stratasfan Posted March 7 #3 Posted March 7 So sorry to hear this. @pwcosol If you let me know his username, I can mark the account IN MEMORIUM.
