the Bucket Posted February 23 #1 Posted February 23 Have a guy semi local to me that is selling this 1903a3. Barrel is marked 9-43 and the serial seems to be from late 43. Any red flags? Any thoughts on a good price to offer?
M1Garandy Posted February 23 #2 Posted February 23 Looks like the stock at least has been through Raritan Arsenal. Have any pics of the whole rifle? How is the bore? Does the seller have an asking price attached to this rifle at present or is he/she just fishing for offers at present?
the Bucket Posted February 23 Author #3 Posted February 23 I dont have a whole picture. He says the bore has strong rifiling and that it holds a good group. I will check the muzzle and before purchase. I wont shoot it much, more to go along with my M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, and Mossberg 44. He wants $850. He lives 2.5hrs away.
M1M1 Posted February 23 #4 Posted February 23 If the stock and bore are good I'd pay 850.00 for it. I had that action on a custom 30 06 deer rifle, I wasn't as good with it as Alvin York ,lol. But it sure run well.
the Bucket Posted February 23 Author #5 Posted February 23 Thanks for the info, I think I am going to go get it.
Marshallj Posted February 23 #6 Posted February 23 $850 is a good price. Post pictures when you ge5 it.
doyler Posted February 24 #8 Posted February 24 buy it... fair price compared to show dealers asking prices. I bought an all correct 42 dated Remington at a show that walked in for 725 and no dealer offered more than 450 to the seller. I pad his asking price and didn't play pawn star games. There was9 1903 rifles at the show priced from 1100 t0 1800 and dealers were not offering even half
the Bucket Posted February 24 Author #9 Posted February 24 I thought so. The only ones I have seen for anywhere close to this price, are low serial number ones that are not safe to shoot. And I want to be able to shoot mine, even if I will only do it sparingly.

the Bucket Posted February 26 Author #11 Posted February 26 I went and picked it up today. The action is so smooth. Good rifiling, and good muzzle erosion. Got it on my wall with his other 3 WW2 brothers.
Teamski Posted March 29 #13 Posted March 29 A late congrats. With prices on milsurp rifles these days, you got a great deal!
