Timberwolf Posted February 18 #1 Posted February 18 Hi all, Quite pleased to be the new caretaker of Lt. Ernest Hodous’s Purple Heart and Air Medal. I had obtained his uniform last month, and his granddaughter ended up parting with medals. Lt Hodous was a radio security officer with the 22nd BG 408th BS, he was a passenger on a B-24 that was to partake in a bombing mission to Formosa. “B-24L #44-41647 took off from Clark Field (APO #74), Luzon, Philippine Islands on a strike mission over Toshien, Formosa (Taiwan). They were never seen or heard from again. They were scheduled to show up at a formation with other B-24's south of Formosa but never showed up. The entire crew of 10 and 1 passenger were lost on this mission.” I hope everyone enjoys seeing this, and glad to share Lt. Hodous memory.
