the Bucket Posted February 14 #1 Posted February 14 Buddy of mine jist handed me this and said he does not want it. Looks like a 1903 or Garand sling. There is a stamp in it but I cant read it. Anyway to tell if this is military issue? Any help would be great
AustinO Posted February 14 #2 Posted February 14 I would have no problems calling it an issue 1903 sling. A lot of times the stamping fades, and I've even seen some that were not stamped.
GWS Posted February 15 #4 Posted February 15 Nice looking M-1907 sling. Some of the WW1 contractor slings were very lightly stamped so don't worry about that, it's original. Now all you need is an M-1903 rifle to put it on! Steve
the Bucket Posted February 15 Author #5 Posted February 15 I want to get a 1903. But it will have to be happy on my 1944 M1 Garand until I get a 1903. I know they stopped making them in 1943, but we will say mu Garand got a hand me down.
