Siamundo Posted February 6 #1 Posted February 6 May be nothing. It does look like it has some age to it though. This was mixed in with group of assorted primarily WW II US Army patches. About 2.5" high.
Uniforms of the Day Posted February 7 #2 Posted February 7 A very similar seahorse and anchor are the centeal features of the WWII USMC Ship's Detachment patch. And it ceetainly looks like it could be from that period. I don't know what this is, but I would explore any options you have for researching it. It may ne nothing, but it may be something pretty cool. I am very interested to see if anyone in here has info about this! Please post a picture of the back.
Siamundo Posted February 12 Author #3 Posted February 12 Yes, I agree it does have that similarity to the USMC Ship's Detachment patch. Other than that, I have no clue though.
Uniforms of the Day Posted February 17 #4 Posted February 17 Just for info, he Boy Scouts & Sea Scouts have incorporated many military designs into their patches over the years. Attached is an example of a scout patch using the SEABEES design that I recently sold. Just another possibility to keep in the back of your mind.
