Pushthepick Posted February 3 #1 Posted February 3 Posted this helmet in the WW1 sub before I found this section, which seems to be a more appropriate place for this….sorry for the clutter. The 6 pointed star is really throwing me off. The shield shape is unusual as well but not nearly as far of a departure from what you typically see in other examples, compared to the star. Bought this in the mid 90s when I was 12 or 13 and haven’t been able to find any variations of the 2nd Infantry SSI using anything but the 5 pointed star behind the Indian head. Would love some help, any ideas?
Uniforms of the Day Posted February 4 #2 Posted February 4 It may be nothing more than a little artistic license on the part of the artist. I have a pretty extensive archive of old 2nd Div. material. I'm searching for ya.
Pushthepick Posted March 6 Author #3 Posted March 6 That’s always been the most likely scenario IMO, simply because I’ve never been able to find any other examples with that star. Thanks so much for the Reply!

sjones Posted March 7 #5 Posted March 7 I agree with Uniform of the Day that it is an artistic version of a standard shield
