Stratum Posted January 30 #1 Posted January 30 A salty example of, what I believe, is a late production PASGT that saw use during the early years of Afghanistan. Oddly enough, the cover is actually for an ACH and has the communications flap and infrared squares with velcro covers dotted about. It would appear the 2 go together due to their matching wear and the fact that the velcro straps are bent due to them having been on the helmet for so long, but it could just be that it the cover was slapped on there long enough ago for that to happen. My best guess is whoever had been using this helmet hadn't gotten a newer ACH yet and had to opt for a UCP ACH cover since UCP PASGT covers were not nearly as avaliable. Im unsure of the size of the helmet since the stamps are all gone, but I think its a large due to the size comparison to my XL PASGT. You'll also notice the helmets' outershell is tapped at 3 points to the kevlar. Definitely a salty one and I really like it for that!!
