M1 Carbine Flip Sight Opinions Please

I would like to know if this sight is genuine or repro.

These are hard to judge.  The S does look wonky, but I'm not an expert.  

 

If you post on the CMP forum, you will get a definitive answer very quickly.

This is a early version of a Real unmarked Flip site that has had a S Stamp Added.

That's crazy that someone would alter a perfectly legitimate sight.
