I've been using this old post as a guide for some time. Does anyone have a pic of what the drawstring looks like on a Jumper??

Thanks Jerry

I do not, but it was just a length of black cotton twill tape. My dad, who was issued that type said that most guys just pulled the draw string out and tossed it. It didn’t serve any use, so not needed. He liked it. He would snug it up just a bit and use the bloused jumper as a pocket to carry more smokes or such.

Thank you and not to look a gift horse in the mouth but could you possibly shoot me a pic of the maker's tag. Please.

Thank you, Jerry,

All the tags.  The contract number is 96657 but it is not an NXSX number. I'm thinking it is a Pre-WWII - pre-942-ish contract.

Check the stars on the collar. Every pre we2 dress blue jumper I’ve seen had hand embroidered stars on the collar.

Those are hand done stars. The cuff stripe is Apprentice Seaman (Recruit). Yep, pre WW2

Thank you so much for showing that to all of us. I do have a couple jumpers and trousers with that embroidered tag. I have to look at them more closely

Thanks Jerry

Jumper Number 2 is a 50s to 60s Seafarer

Does anyone have a pic of what a machine sewn star looks like??

Again, I can't thank all of you enough for this crash course on Navy regalia.

Thanks again

Jerry
