ScottG Posted January 24 #1 Posted January 24 Received a massive grouping yesterday to 4 Brothers who served in WWII. 1 Navy, 1USCG, 1Army 24th Division, and, 1 USAAF (KIA). The Coast Guardsman had several uniforms and two ratings, one Signalman and the other Quartermaster. Shown here is his Signalmans uniforms and my question is, was this uniform still authorized in WWII? I thought they did away with the blue trim on the whites well before the war? Was it just a case of using what was in the system? Thanks for any info. Scott
navyman Posted January 24 #2 Posted January 24 1941 the dress whites were still in use; I believe that was the last year. So, he must of went in 1941 or earlier.
