I'm putting together a machine gun troop torso of 1916 and I have a couple of questions, three actually. I try to have a close look at photos of the 1916 trip vacation period into Mexico and what I can read as per regulation but this was time of field conflicts that's why I rely more on period photos than regulations.

1. Since MG Troopers were issued M1909 or M1910 bolos would they continue to wear the belt sword straps? I know by 1916 the Patton sword had replaced the M1906 Cav saber but not all units had them yet and no known facts exist of the Patton sword going to Mexico and I can find only one regiment took their M1906 sabers and it was NG. I would say 'no' to this question.

2. Did Machine gun troops still issued the bandolier and/or was it worn? I've seen many photos of troopers in Mexico wearing  them.

3. Having a senior moment question #3

Once I have the torso complete I will post photos. The MG Troop I'm putting together is the 10th Cav Machine Gun Troop. There is actual documentation of them being in Mexico and limited photos. I don't think the 13th Cav took their MG Troop with them when they took off after Columbus for Poncho. It's documented they were used during Poncho's Raid.

Here is a photo and it could be either 13th or 17th Cav? I or L Troop? Inventory #48 or 49? Your opinions? Thanks to all.

I remember now what #3 was. Were Machine gunners or assistant Machine gunners issued M1903 also?

Not the answers to your questions but period photos from my collection (Hawaii not Mexico)
