I've also attached his award card. April 1941: Jersey Students Join Air Service Nine students who learned aviation at the University of Newark here in a course sponsored by the Civil Aeronautics Authority have entered military ice, seven in the army air corps, one at a naval, and the ninth in Royal Canadian Aviation Force. Flying under the British flag is Edward A. Borkoski of White Oak Ridge road, Short Hills. May 1951 (Lines up with the article posted by Blacksmith) Major Edward A. Borkoski, son of Mrs. Edward Borkoski of 175 White Oak Ridge road, has been recalled to active duty by the Air Force and has been assigned Air Installation Officer, 460th Air Base Group, Ent Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado. A veteran of World War II, he had 165 missions over the "hump" in Burma. A senior pilot, he saw service in the European theatre, the Middle East and Far East during the last war. Among, his decorations are the Chinese Memorial Medal for the Janvary, 1945 evacuation of troops in China, the Distinguished Flying Cross with one cluster, the Air Medal wtih one cluster, the European theatre medal with one battle star, the Pacific Theatre Medal with four battle stars and a Presidential citation.
