ASMIC2971 Posted April 25, 2009 #1 Posted April 25, 2009 When I first started collecting I was really interested in Vietnam War era items. One of the items I really wanted was a Civillian Service Medal. Six years after putting one down on my top ten list I can cross it off! It goes to show that if you are patient one will eventually fall into your lap. Does anyone else have a Original Civillian Service Medal?
JBFloyd Posted April 25, 2009 #2 Posted April 25, 2009 These are always nice to find in the box with the miniature and lapel pin. There was a slightly earlier box, which was gray.

What year were the gray box's issued? Are they rarer then the cardboard box? Also what is a realistic price for this medal?
JBFloyd Posted April 25, 2009 #4 Posted April 25, 2009 They grey boxes look just like this one, only a different color. They date from the beginning of the medal. I recall having one dated 1966. I've sold the boxed one (either color) in the $75 range.
ASMIC2971 Posted April 25, 2009 Author #5 Posted April 25, 2009 Wow I got mine for a steal then, only $40 dollars!
