1943 Underwood M1 Carbine

I have the opportunity to pick up this M1. The reciever and barrel are marked Underwood. The barrel has a flaming bomb and a 43. I cannot find a cartouch on the stock. The trigger group is Inland, the opp rod has a W on it, the bayonet assembly has an A1 on it. Rifiling is not great, but will hit the target.

What is a gun like this worth? Trying to figure out what to offer.

Looks like a pretty typical post-WW2 rebuild, with a mixed bag of parts which is typical.

Assuming it’s not import marked, I’d say $1200 is the most I’d want to be into it at. It’s Underwood, which is nice, but it is rebuilt, they are not rare, and not all that hard to find.

Others will likely say it’s worth up to $1500, but at that price it would sit on a gun show table or rack for a while. People think these have become gold plated the last couple years, and while they are quite popular, the ones I see are just overpriced quite often.

That's very helpful. So 1k-1200 would be the price range I am shooting for?

I think 1k would be a very good price. I don’t think 1200 would be out of line at all if you really like it. I think $1500 is too much.

Agree, typical post war rebuild. Price is about average, depending on your area. That being said, so long as the barrel isn't shot out. If you have a muzzle gauge anything <3 is good to go.
