Steve1987 Posted November 16, 2025 #1 Posted November 16, 2025 Greetings Collectors, I'm hoping to identify the maker mark on this First World War M1907 leather rifle sling. Photos attached. It appears the maker uses the letters "H.N.M." and features brass hardware with hand stitching, suggesting to me it is likely early production. Thanks!!! Sincerely, Steve
everforward Posted November 16, 2025 #2 Posted November 16, 2025 The ‘HNM’ is more than likely the marking of the inspector at the plant that made the sling…. Any other stampings..?

Any other stampings..? That's all I could see. From reading this article it seems First World War slings sometimes have just the maker, no date. This is why I was thinking it's probably the maker? I'm getting ready to move this one to a new home, and I am hoping to learn more about it for the listing. Sincerely, Steve
