Decided to bring out all my NCO staff 1902 dress blues. Still need a few - Master Gunner, Engineer, Master Electrician, Electrician Sgt, Commissary Sgt, Sgt Major Junior Grade, etc. Mostly going after any 1902 dress blues that would be associated with Coast Artillery posts.
1. Artillery Sgt. Major Senior Grade (unnamed)
2. Chief Musician, Coast Artillery (named to L. Yassel, Chief Musician, 4th Band, CAC, Ft Monroe, VA).
3. Ordnance Sgt. (named to L. Chick, Certificate of Merit recipient, Ordnance Sgt at Ft Worden and then Ft Columbia, WA)
4. Hospital Steward (unnamed)
5. Post Quartermaster Sgt (unnamed)

These uniforms represent over 90-100 years of combined service.

Ditto! That is outstanding.  Of the named ones: have you been able to research them further yet?

Thanks everyone.
Yes, the named ones are fully researched and I have found photos of both men.

Awesome. Did any have the cap with them, or did you acquire matching caps?  Even the proper collar devices can be tough for these.

Aloha Aaron,

Great to see all the NCO coat out together.  Like I told Mario little over a  year ago, I do love the "barber shop poles" on all them cuffs.  Your Chief Musician coat is an interesting one that I haven't encountered before.  Is this a 1895 conversion coat worn to worn in 1902 before the OQMG had proper procurement in place for the 02 coat distribution?Without Emerson in hand I can't reference this one way or another.  In anycase awesome lineup.

A Hui Hou,

Thanks guys.
Only uniform that had a cap come with it is the Hospital Steward coat, which came with pants too. Here's only photo I have of it at the moment (these are some of my finds from the last Pomona show):

John,
The 1895 type musicians coat is the only type like it I've seen - I have photo evidence of the 4th CAC Band wearing these same uniforms, so it must have just been a custom tailored uniform for the band, as many bands had custom uniforms at the time. In the photo you can see Band Leader Yassel wearing same uniform. I also have his 1885 pattern coat as well, sadly missing the buttons.

Very interesting Aaron and with iron clad pictorial evidence showing the coat being worn in era is the ultimate"smoking gun".  I bet that the mohair braid standing collar was far more comfortable than the standard Melton Wool that the rest of the troops had to endure.  Thanks for sharing the additional information too.

Base or regimental commanders had a lot of say in band uniforms. I've seen a few pictures of the officers 95 coat worn by army band members. The 4th Cavalry band apparently wore it in 1901, that one is pictured in a book on Army Bands. Coincidentally perhaps the 95 officers coat pattern became a fairly common uniform with civilian bands.

I just came across this topic tonight.  What a great collection of 1902 enlisted dress uniforms.  I well understand how hard it is to accumulate a collection of this caliber.  These uniforms are my main collection interest.  The Turn of the 20th century uniforms are what lights my fire, along with the interwar uniforms.  I always enjoy your posts.  We share a common interest in our collection area.

Thanks for the kind words, it's a fun challenge to find these.
