My grandpa was in the 539th T.C. his role was to help fix choppers in a base in pho loi (I think that's how you say it) he would tell me about how tons of wounded men would come off the helicopters and he would help the medics carry the wounded men into trucks to be sent off to get treated. He never was on the front line but he was always a hero.
