Brig Posted November 2, 2025 #1 Posted November 2, 2025 Here's a chance to experience something most people outside of the Marine Corps never get to, on a significant milestone no less, as well as win you brownie points for taking your wife/girlfriend/special someone to a formal gala. In his civilian capacity, one of our reservists and his wife run the Upstate NY Capital Region Toys for Tots campaign. This year, he had the idea to host a Marine Corps Birthday Ball that benefits the program. If anyone in the Albany area is interested in attending an event most people outside of the Marine Corps never get to experience, he still has several tickets available. Several Marines will be in attendance and the ceremony will include the reading of John A Lejeune's birthday message, a cake-cutting ceremony, speeches, and toasting. Who: Those who want to experience a Marine Corps Birthday Ball What: Marine Corps Birthday Ball Where: The Hangar at 743 beside the Albany Airport. 743 Albany Shaker Rd, Latham, NY When: 8 November 1700-2300 Why: Celebrate the 250th Birthday of the United States Marines and help ensure no Capital Region child goes without this holiday season. Tickets are $125 and include dinner and dessert. There will be a cash bar on site. Attire is formal evening wear, ball gowns, and dress uniforms. Guest of Honor will be Corporal Frank English, a BAR Gunner who fought with 3/1 in Korea. The organizers have a block of rooms at a special rate reserved at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn, if you mention the Marine Ball when making reservations. There's also a local tux shop offering a discount on tux rentals, information is on the registration form. Register and purchase tickets: https://forms.gle/1S2qpscon2M2PCDX8
